Men's soccer hosts Rock Valley to open postseason

The regular season over, it's now playoff time for the Madison College men's soccer team. Saturday, the WolfPack will host Rock Valley College at noon in an NJCAA Region IV Tournament quarterfinal. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams, with the previous two each being decided by a single goal.

In the first meeting between the two teams, Wednesday, Sept. 10, the 'Pack, playing the role of host, won 1-0. Tim Kennedy scored the lone goal of the game in 15th minute, as both teams finished with just four shots on net.

However, when Madison College had to visit the Golden Eagles Sept. 26, it was Rock Valley which had the last laugh. Following a scoreless first half, Alejandro Mondujano found the back of the net in the 58th minute. Despite the losing effort, the WolfPack would outshoot the Golden Eagles 10-8, holding a 7-4 edge in shots on net.

Madison College wrapped up their regular season Wednesday with a 7-0 win over Milwaukee Area Technical College. With the victory, the WolfPack improved to 6-8-1 on the year, including a 5-4-1 mark in North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play. Rock Valley, which saw its final regular season match canceled this afternoon, finished 5-10-1 overall, with a 4-5-1 mark in the N4C.
