WolfPack women's hoops drops first game at home

Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team suffered their first home defeat Saturday. The WolfPack fell to Kishwaukee College, losing by the final score of 75-68.

Despite the absence of Hood, Madison College shot the ball fairly well in the loss. The 'Pack managed to knock down 41 percent of their shots from the field, hitting 26 of their 62 attempts.

Sophomore post player Ellyn Hayden led the way for the WolfPack offensively, finishing with 22 points and five boards. Kelly Calhoun and Chelsey Schulenburg added 13 points apiece.

Where the Kougars were able to take advantage of Madison College was down low. Kishwaukee scored 50 of their 75 points in the paint against the 'Pack. The Kougars made 30 of their 60 shots from the floor for the game, good for a 50 percent mark.

Madison College trailed by only two points at the halftime break, but was outscored by five in the game's final 20 minutes. Kishwaukee's Ashanti Davis finished with a game-high 31 points.

The WolfPack, 7-5 overall, will look to end a two-game losing streak Wednesday, Jan. 8 against Triton College at 5:30 p.m. The game marks the start of North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play for Madison College.
