WolfPack women move up in poll, down Harper

Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team was successful on two accounts Wednesday. The WolfPack moved up one spot in the NJCAA Division III Top 10 National Poll, jumping from eighth to seventh, and then bested Harper on the road 100-58.

Offensively, Madison College was on fire against the Hawks. Not only did they shoot 50 percent from the field, but they also had six players score in double figures. Freshman Kelly Calhoun had a near triple-double, finishing with 16 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. Gabrielle Hood, making her return from an ankle injury, also tallied 16, while Chelsey Schulenburg added 14, Meagan Mazur 13, Nicole Hoffmann had 11 and Alexandra Jackelen 10.

On the other side of the ball, the WolfPack looked sharp as well. Madison College forced 29 Harper turnovers, leading to 26 points.

Despite having their fair share of free throw shooting problems this season, the 'Pack had little issue at the charity stripe in this one. The team hit 18 of their 22 attempts from the foul line (81 percent).

Next, Madison College (15-6, 6-1) visits Triton College Saturday. Currently on their longest road trip of the season, five games, the WolfPack has been perfect, winning the first three. Saturday's tip time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
