WolfPack men lose lead, fall at Milwaukee

Box Score Powered by the play of reserve Shane Kanaman, the WolfPack men's basketball team took a four point lead into halftime, visiting in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College Wednesday night. Unfortunately, the Stormers were too much down the stretch, pulling away for a 79-69 victory.

Kanaman, who hit seven of his 13 shot attempts, including six three-pointers, would lead the team with 20 points in just 21 minutes. However, he'd also end up fouling out in the game. Brandon Holz and Tanner Schieve each added nine points.

Madison College was at its best in the first half, shooting 44 percent from beyond the arc. The team knocked down eight three-pointers, to Milwaukee's three, prior to the break. However, the 'Pack managed just 10-of-33 shooting in the second half, including eight missed threes in 11 attempts.

Meanwhile, the Stormers played steady basketball, shooting 48 percent in both halves. Milwaukee outscored Madison in the paint 42-24.

Three players had double digit scoring efforts for the Stormers, including Thomas Hood, Jr., who led all scorers with 22 points.

After trailing by four at the break, Milwaukee bested Madison by 14 points in the second half.

With the loss, the WolfPack falls to 2-14 overall, 0-3 in conference play. The team returns home to try and end a nine-game losing streak Saturday, Jan. 18 versus Wilbur Wright College. The two teams will tip things off at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium at 3 p.m.
