WolfPack women wear down Marathon County

Box Score Good teams with 12 players have a hard time beating the WolfPack women's basketball team. So, with UW-Marathon County sporting just five players Monday, Madison College wasn't about to have their two-game winning streak snapped by the Huskies.

Playing at their usual fast pace, the WolfPack was able to jump out to a big lead after the game's first 20 minutes, up 34-17 at halftime. The Huskies were only able to knock down 20 percent of their shots in that time frame.

Madison College really turned it up in the second half, connecting on 22-of-42 field goal attempts, as they would run away with things. At one point, the 'Pack found themselves up 32 points.

Three players finished in double figures for the WolfPack, with Nicole Hoffman leading the way with 14 points. Meagan Mazur and Kelly Calhoun added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

As a team, Madison College finished with 31 points off 30 Marathon County turnovers, helping them to 60 points scored in the paint.

The WolfPack (10-5, 2-0) will take their three-game winning streak to Milwaukee Area Technical College Wednesday. The Stormers are currently the seventh-ranked team in the country. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
