WolfPack soccer stays undefeated, bests Harper College

It's safe to say, this year's Madison College soccer team is different. After having won only two games combined the past two seasons, the WolfPack has already equaled that total in their first two games of 2013.

Playing North Central Community College Conference (N4C) foe Harper College Friday, in their home opener, the 'Pack would rally from an early 1-0 deficit to topple the Hawks.

Harper College would open the scoring with a Kevin Engebretsen goal in the 10th minute. However, Madison College found an answer in Eric Paeschke, who scored back-to-back goals in the 12th and 13th minute to give the WolfPack a 2-1 lead at halftime.

The WolfPack would add their third and final goal in the 69th minute of the second half, with Marcos Meneses finding the back of the net. Up two, Madison College had all the cushion they'd need.

Despite another Hawks goal in the 79th minute, the WolfPack would hold on for the 3-2 victory. Juan Martinez-Perez finished with eight saves for Madison College.

With the win, the WolfPack's record improves to 2-0 overall, 2-0 in conference play. The team will put their perfect record on the line again Wednesday, Sept. 11 when they host Triton College. The eighth ranked Trojans are 3-1 overall, 2-0 in N4C play.
