WolfPack soccer drops tough game at Carthage College

Fresh off a 5-1 win over conference rival Milwaukee Area Technical College, the WolfPack soccer team was feeling good entering Sunday's contest against Carthage College JV. However, the Red Men proved to be a little too tough a test for Madison College.

After surrendering the first goal of the game in the 18th minute, the WolfPack would get on the board with a scrappy goal by Eric Paeschke. After a cross by Parvis Samadzada careened off goalkeeper Sam Danner, Paeschke wound up finding the back of the net on the follow-up in the 25th minute. Samadzada was credited with the assist.

The game would remain tied for about 20 minutes, until Jordan Dejno came through with an unassisted goal for Carthage in the 44th minute. Justin Luna would add another unassisted goal less than one minute later.

Madison College goalkeeper Juan Martinez-Perez tallied six saves on the afternoon.

The WolfPack (3-3 overall, 3-1 conference) will next turn their attention to Joliet Junior College. After their scheduled matchup with the Wolves was canceled Wednesday, Madison College will head to Joliet for a 4 p.m. showdown Monday, Sept. 23.
