The Madison College soccer team has a lot to smile about. For the first time since 2010, the WolfPack won their regular season opener, defeating Milwaukee Area Technical College 1-0 Wednesday.
Late in the first half, the 'Pack would get on the board with a goal by
Elliot Pieper in the 31st minute.
Rene Gonzalez picked up the assist on the play.
Madison College outshot Milwaukee 18-3, getting 10 shots on goal. Goalkeeper
Juan Martinez-Perez stopped the only two shots he faced.
The win marks the first time since the WolfPack joined the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) in 2009 that they've won their conference opener.
Madison College will host Harper College at Warner Park, Field #1, Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.
