Madison College Women’s Basketball Wins Third Straight N4C Game

Box Score Down 29 to 30 at the half against the Joliet Junior College Wolves last Wednesday, the WolfPack used a dominate second half to claim a 66-53 home victory. The comeback victory marks Madison's third straight N4C conference win. The team is now 7-3 at home, 7-3 in the N4C conference, and 11-13 overall.

After being outshot 50 percent to 36 percent by the Joliet Wolves in the first half, the WolfPack stormed back after the break. The WolfPack shot 23-of-29 at the charity stripe while Joliet put in five of their six attempts. Overall, Madison outscored the visitors by draining 34 of their 41 free throws compared to the 6-of-9 shooting for the Wolves. Madison also won the turnover battle by forcing 34 Joliet errors to their 24. The WolfPack also received more support off of their bench (20 points to 4) and forced 51 defensive stops to the opponents 44.

Three players reached double figures for the 'Pack, and were led by Courtney Spangler's 23. Spangler shot 6-of-12 from the field and 10-of-14 from the free throw line, while securing six rebounds and recording a team leading seven steals. Alyssa Anding was next on the 'Pack in scoring with 13 points. She shot 3-of-6 from the field, and knocked down 7-of-8 free throws. She also added two assists and three steals. Calli Dahl also reached double digits, and illustrated the importance of taking advantage of your free throws by knocking down all 10 of her attempts, while adding two steals and two assists.
 
Next up for the 11-13 Madison College WolfPack is another N4C conference game, this time on the road. The 'Pack travels to Milwaukee, WI to face the Milwaukee Area Technical College  Stormers on Saturday, February 9. The away game starts at 1:00 PM.
