Hawks Quit Flying in WolfPack Rout

Box Score With 3:09 left to go in the game and the WolfPack up 80-36 the Harper Collge Hawks decided they were done, forfeiting the game in a bizarre finish to Monday night's rescheduled game. Three WolfPack players finished in double-figures including leading scorer, Courtney Spangler who finished with an 18 point, 13 rebound double-double.

Monday night's game was a rescheduled contest from last Wednesday's weather canceled game.   In the first half, the WolfPack shot 50 percent from the field, made 17 out of 20 free throws and forced 21 Hawks turnovers.  Those 21 Hawks turnovers were converted into 28 WolfPack points.  In addition, the Hawks had two technical fouls in the half giving the WolfPack even more of an advantage from the free throw line.  In the first half, second year post player, Courtney Spangler, poured in 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the free throw line.

In the second half, the WolfPack extended their lead to as many as 44 points as the Hawks frustration grew.  The Hawks added two more technical fouls and 12 more turnovers before not coming out of their timeout huddle with 3:09 left in the game.  Harper College forfeited the game and the WolfPack won 80-36 to claim their tenth win of the season.

Courtney Spangler finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds for her tenth double-double of the season.  Teammates Taylor Pfeuti and Ellyn Hayden pitched in with 14 points each while second year guard, Calli Dahl, added 9 points and dished out five assists.  With the win, the WolfPack Women improved to 10-13 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

Next up for the Madison College Women is a another home contest against the N4C's second place team, Joliet Junior College.  The WolfPack play Joliet at 5:30 PM on Wednesday night in Madison.
