Women’s Basketball Takes Down Harper in Season Finale

Box Score The Madison College women's basketball took a five point lead at the break (25 to 20) over the Harper College Hawks on Saturday down in Palatine, IL before absolutely dominating the host Hawks in the second half for the 65-43 win. With the win in their regular season finale, the 'Pack finished the first part of the season 14-16 and 9-5 in the N4C conference. The WolfPack women host their next game on Tuesday, February 26. The WolfPack plays host to Harper College, their regular season finale opponent, for a NJCAAA Region IV Quarterfinal Game. The playoff game in Madison, WI starts at 7:00 PM.
 
Even though the 'Pack only shot 23.8 percent (6-of-26) in the first half, Madison still managed to take the five point first half lead. They were aided by strong defense (they limited the Hawks to 26.4 percent shooting) and effective offense as they held a six point advantage from the charity stripe. The second half provided more domination for the 'Pack as Madison outscored Harper by 17 points (40 to 23). This half Madison shot outstanding from the field (48.1%) to the Hawks (26.4%), and dominated Harper in shooting from the field in the ball game 35.8 percent to 26.6 percent. They also scored 21 points from the charity stripe compared to Harper's 10 points and held a 15 point advantage over Harper from three-point range.
 
Calli Dahl played possibly her best game at Madison College in her final regular season game with the 'Pack. Dahl led the team with a season high and career high 26 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and 13-of-14 shooting at the free throw line. She also hauled down six rebounds and dished out six assists. Courtney Spangler also reached double-figures for the 'Pack with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including hitting 2-of-3 three-point shots. Spangler also snatched seven rebounds to tie Ellyn Hayden with the team lead.
 
Madison College has Monday off before hosting the Harper College Hawks on Tuesday, February 26. Besides their 65-43 over the Harper Hawks on Saturday, the 'Pack won their other season matchup over Harper in early February, 80 to 36. The playoff game this Tuesday starts at 7:00 PM.
