Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team earned their eighth N4C conference victory with a 67-39 rout of the visiting Wilbur Wright College Rams on Wednesday night. Second year players,
Courtney Spangler and
Taylor Pfeuti led the way for the WolfPack with 15 points and eight rebounds each.
The Wilbur Wright College Rams struggled shooting, going just 6-for-33 from the field and turning the ball over 17 times. The Rams managed just 13 points in the half while the WolfPack capitalized on the turnovers and made 11 out of 14 free throws to lead 38-13 at intermission. In the second half, the WolfPack kept the Rams at bay and extended their lead to as many as 28 points before winning, 67-39.
Courtney Spangler and
Taylor Pfeuti each had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the WolfPack in scoring while
Ellyn Hayden pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. Second year guard,
Calli Dahl had 11 points and six rebounds. Pfeuti also contributed with a game-high five steals.
The win pushed Madison College to 8-3 in conference play and within one game of .500 for the season. Next up for the WolfPack is a Saturday home game against the top NJCAA Division III team in the nation, Rock Valley College. The game is at 5:00 PM and is part of
Jam the Gym night.
