Box Score They were down 39-31 at the halftime break Tuesday evening, but the Madison College women's basketball team rallied back to sting the Rochester Community & Technical College Yellowjackets by the final score of 75-66. Once again, it was
Gabrielle Hood leading the team's offensive efforts with 16 points and four assists.
It truly was a tale of two halves for the WolfPack. In the first they shot just 33 percent from the field, while Rochester hit at a 48 percent clip. Come the second, Madison College made 40 percent of their field goal attempts, holding the Yellowjackets to 32 percent.
Madison College hit the glass hard all night long, hauling in 25 offensive rebounds, which lead to 17 second chance points. Madison outrebounded Rochester 56-42.
Defensively, Madison College forced 27 Rochester turnovers, resulting in 22 points on the other end of the floor.
Along with Hood, two other members of the 'Pack scored in double digits, as
Lizzy Britt and
Meagan Mazur scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Madison College (4-2) is now riding a three-game winning streak. The WolfPack will return to H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium Tuesday, Dec. 3 for a home game against Elgin Community College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m., with the game serving as Parent's Night.
