Shooting woes lead to WolfPack women's basketball loss

Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team dropped their second straight game Wednesday evening, falling at Sauk Valley Community College, after shooting just 29 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the free throw line. The WolfPack will look to rebound from the loss when they host Fox Valley Technical College in their home opener, Monday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

After scoring just 19 points in the opening half, the WolfPack would get things together in the second, nearly doubling their total from the first frame by scoring 37 points. Unfortunately, the 14 point halftime hole was too tough to come back from.

Meagan Mazur led the WolfPack offensively, tallying 14 points while shooting 55 percent from the floor. Two more from Madison College would figure with double-digit scoring, as Gabrielle Hood and Kelly Calhoun added 13 and 12 respectively.

Morgan Dean was the star for Sauk Valley, failing to miss a single shot from the field on her way to 20 points.

The WolfPack is now 1-2 on the season.
