They were in it until the end, but the Madison College soccer team couldn't get the win they craved in their regular-season finale. Hosting Concordia University JV, the WolfPack fell 1-2 Friday.
All of the scoring was done in the game's opening half. The Falcons opened things up with a goal in the game's 16th minute, as Juan Carmona found the back of the net, but Madison College would answer back just 11 minutes later.
Devan Hilleshiem, on an assist from
Elliot Pieper, would even the score at one.
The game would remain tied until the 31st minute of the opening half, but that's when Concordia would put it away. Sean Cropper scored on an assist from Collin French.
WolfPack goalkeeper
Juan Martinez-Perez was credited with four saves in the match. Madison College finished with nine shots on goal, compared to the Falcons' six.
The WolfPack (5-9, 4-4) will visit Joliet Junior College Wednesday, Oct. 23 to begin postseason play. The two teams have met twice this season with the Wolves winning both times.
