WolfPack soccer better in second showing with Joliet

The first time the Madison College soccer team met Joliet Junior College this season they lost bad, falling 0-7. Wednesday, they put up a much better fight, but still fell 2-3.

The first half was played almost to a draw, as neither team would find the back of the net until the 44th minute. Bryan Chavez's goal gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead entering the halftime break.

Joliet's lead would grow to 3-0 after goals by Leatile Masula and Chavez, in the 52nd and 58th minutes respectively. However, Madison College, unfazed, would continue to surge ahead. Leading scorer Marcos Meneses would make sure the WolfPack would not go away empty-handed, picking up goals in the 68th and 86th minutes.

Parvis Samadzada would tally one assist in the game, coming on Meneses's second score.

Madison College (5-8, 4-4) has just one game remaining prior to the start of postseason play. The WolfPack will host Concordia University (WI) JV Friday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.
