Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team defeated the visiting UW-Marathon County Huskies 81-59 in Madison for a great momentum builder prior to the start of the conference season. The WolfPack's 22 point win over the Huskies snapped the teams three game losing streak and improved their home record to 3-2 on the year.

Madison College held a 37-33 halftime lead before wearing out the five-player Huskies team on their way to taking over the second half (44 to 26) and easily walking away with the win. Despite only shooting 37.5 percent from the field during the lopsided victory, the WolfPack offensive clicked on several cylinders, including winning the points in the paint battle (44 to 30), second effort points (23 to 8), and free throw points (17 to 9). Not only was the offensive instrumental in the big win, the 'Pack defensive forced 35 Huskies turnovers to Madison's 19, while picking up a season-high 22 team steals. The defense also forced 63 stops and scored 22 points off of turnovers.

Three players reached the double-digit scoring mark for the WolfPack and were led by Courtney Spangler's 24. She also hauled down 15 rebounds (6 offensive) on her way to picking up her eight h double-double of the year. If that wasn't enough, Spangler picked up four steals and added two blocks. Calli Dahl was next in line with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field to go along with six rebounds, and team highs with five steals and four assists. Freshman Alyssa Anding chipped in 15 points to round out the double-digit scorers, and she did it very efficiently. She shot 5-of-8 from the field, including 1-of-2 beyond the arc while making all four of her free throws. Anding also added five rebounds and registered four steals.
 
The 5-10 Madison College women's basketball team has a day off before traveling to River Grove, IL to face the Triton College Trojans in their N4C conference opener on Wednesday, January 9. The game against the NJCAA DII Trojans starts at 5:00 PM.
