Madison College Women Suffer Road Loss to Kishwaukee

The Kishwaukee College Kougars played one of their best games of the season and upended the visiting WolfPack in Malta, IL on January 5 by 59 points, 101 to 42. The WolfPack was limited to 17 points in the first half while the Kougars reached 50 in both frames.

After taking a commanding 50 to 17 first half lead by shooting 52.7 from the field, the Kishwaukee Kougars kept up heat to outscore the visitors 51-25 in the second half. Although the WolfPack did shoot 43.7 percent from the floor in the first half, they were limited to 16 field goals attempts compared to the Kougars 36 in the frame. The Kougars kept up the trend of getting more offensive looks then the 'Pack in the second half as they took 36 shots to Madison's 23. Kishwaukee got most of those extra looks by forcing 28 WolfPack turnovers while only committing five themselves, while also dominating second chance points (17 to 1).

Ellyn Hayden led the WolfPack offense with 16 points in 24 minutes of action. Both Chelsey Schulenburg and Calli Dahl tied for the team lead with four assist, and Terissa Bierd picked up two steals. Schulenburg also finished second on the team with eight points.

Next up for the WolfPack is their first home game of 2013 on Monday, January 7. The game against in-state rival UW-Marathon County starts at 5:30 PM in Madison.
