Box Score The women's basketball team from the College of DuPage took down the Madison College WolfPack 68 to 54 this past Saturday in Madison, WI. The loss drops the 'Pack's record to 8-13 and 3-3 in the N4C conference.
The WolfPack played tough in the first half and were only down by four (31 to 27) at the break despite being stymied by the DuPage Chaparrals defense to the tune of shooting only 14.3 percent from the field. DuPage's height advantage played a crucial role in both the half and the game as they scored more points in the paint (12 to 4 in the first half) and the duo of 6-2 and 6-3 players altered almost every Madison shot. Madison College improved their shooting from the field in the second frame 35.7 percent, but so did the Chaparrals (39.3%). Overall, DuPage outshot the 'Pack from the field 37 percent to 25 percent, and doubled the 'Pack's three-point output (18 points to 9) as well as outscoring the WolfPack in points off of turnovers 26 points to 13.
Courtney Spangler and
Calli Dahl both scored in double digits and each recorded three steals. Spangler led the team with 16 points and Dahl scored 12 to go with the steals. Spangler also grabbed 10 rebounds (4 offensive) for her tenth double-double of the season.
Alyssa Anding led the team with seven assists and
Chelsey Schulenburg joined Spangler and Dahl with three steals.
The Madison College women's basketball team is off until mid-week when they host the Harper College Hawks on Wednesday, January 30. The N4C conference games starts at 5:30 PM.
