WolfPack Men’s Basketball Drops Both ICC Classic Games

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Madison College men's basketball team was roughed up in East Peoria, IL in their final games of 2012 by two NJCAA DII opponents in the ICC Classic tournament on December 28 and 29. The WolfPack was no match for the tournament host Illinois Central Cougars in Friday's game losing 64-103, before dropping their second game of the tournament by 47 points in a 69-116 loss to the Cincinnati State Technical & Community College Surge.
 
Dominic Fumbanks led the offense with 19 points on six of nine shooting from the field in the 64-103 loss to Illinois Central, while chipping in three rebounds. Jason Miller and Sheldon Cooks also reached double-digit points with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Miller hauled down five rebounds, and Cooks put together a double-double with 10 rebounds to lead the team. Cooks also picked up two steals and a block on the defensive side.
 
In Saturday's loss to the Surge from Cincinnati State, three more members of the 'Pack reached double-digits on the offensive end, including familiar faces in Dominic Fumbanks and Jason Miller. Instead of Fumbanks pacing the offensive effort, Jason Miller took over those duties and scored a team-high 21 points. Miller also recorded a team-high eight rebounds. Fumbanks finished right behind him and pitched in 20 points on seven of 12 shooting from the field. He also hit all four of his free throws while adding three rebounds and three steals. Alex Wuensch also got into the action with 10 points on efficient shooting from both the field and the charity stripe, and added five rebounds in the lopsided loss.
 
Next up for the 1-12 WolfPack is their first game of 2013 against the Kishwaukee College Kougars on Saturday, January 5 in Malta, IL. Tip-off is at 3:00 PM.
