Women’s Basketball Drops Home Opener

Box Score The Madison College women's basketball team couldn't pick up the win in their first home game of the season as the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhwaks edged out the home WolfPack 56-53 Wednesday night. Down by three at halftime (29-26), the WolfPack failed to rally in the second half and the visiting Skyhawks picked up the win.

Courtney Spangler once again led the team on the offense with 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds (3 offensive) for her second double-double in five games. Spangler shot eight of 18 from the field, and seven of 10 from the charity stripe. Chelsey Schulenburg finished second on the team with eight points, followed by Alyssa Anding's seven and Ellyn Hayden's six. Hayden and Corrine Dunwiddie both added six rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Taylor Pfeuti paced the squad with four assists and Dunwiddie logged a team leading three steals.

The 1-4 WolfPack have over a week off before resuming play on their home court against the Olive-Harvey College Purple Panther on Friday, November 30.  The Parent's Night game starts at 5:30 PM.
