Madison College Women Tame Kougars

The Madison College Women's Basketball earned a much needed win as they beat the visiting Kishwaukee College Kougars, 58-56, in a back-and-forth game that featured 16 lead changes.  A pair of double-doubles by second year standouts, Kinsey Mace and Tanya Kaufmann, sealed a WolPack victory.

The WolfPack trailed by just one point heading into halftime as the visiting Kougars shot almost 50% from the field in a competivtive first half that saw former Wisconsin Dells standout, Kinsey Mace score 13 points with 6 of those points coming on 2-for-3 shooting from beyond the arc.  In the second half, both teams shooting faltered but a couple of key stops by the WolfPack and a Thresia Elskamp three-pointer put the WolfPack up for good and earned them a two point win over a NJCAA Division II opponent, Kishwaukee College.

Kinsey Mace led all scorers with 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record her third double-double of the year.  Teammate, Tanya Kaufmann scored 13 points and also pulled down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year.  Morgan Lass and Thresia Elskamp each had eight points in the win.

The WolfPack start North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play on Wednesday when they play Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee at 6:00 PM.
