WolfPack Men Beat DuPage in OT Thriller

Eighteen games into their season, the Madison College men's basketball team might not have the overall record they want at 4-14, however they aren't out of the mix in the North Central Community College Conference (N4C). After a 63-62 overtime win at College of DuPage on Wednesday night the team is 2-3 in N4C play.

As they have many times this season, the WolfPack came out of the gate a little slow. Hitting 10-of-31 shots in the first half (32.3%), the team found themselves trailing the Chaparrals by two points at the break. Their play would pick up significantly in the second half, hitting 13-of-28 shots (46.4%). Outscoring College of DuPage 30-28 in the second was enough to push the 'Pack into overtime. The back and forth battle would continue with each squad hitting at a 50% clip in bonus time. Fortunately, Madison College was able to come out on top, knocking down one more basket than DuPage to steal the victory.

Of the seven players suiting up for Madison College, three scored in double figures for the WolfPack. Garrett Borgrud led the way with 17 points, while Alex Cook and Tyler Kowalkowski each added 11. Madison College forced 18 Chaparrals turnovers in the game, leading to 20 points. They also outscored College of DuPage in the paint 28-22.

Madison College (4-14, 2-3) will look to get to .500 in conference play for the first time this season when they host Harper College on Saturday, January 28th at 3:00 PM. The Hawks have yet to win an N4C game, sporting a record of 0-5 against conference competition.
