Second Ranked Rock Valley Women Too Much for WolfPack

The final score wasn't necessarily indicative of how tight the Madison College women's basketball team played second ranked Rock Valley on Saturday afternoon. However, when the final horn sounded the board read 89-69 in favor of the Golden Eagles.

Madison College saw four of their players tally double-digits in scoring. Tanya Kaufmann led the way with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Kinsey Mace and Thresia Elskamp each added 12, while Courtney Spangler chipped in ten points. The problem was that the 'Pack had to truly earn each and every point. Rock Valley held Madison College to 34% from the field (27-of-78). Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles hit 34-of-64 shots from the floor (53.1%). The WolfPack defense did stymie Rock Valley at times though, forcing 27 Golden Eagle turnovers. Thresia Elskamp was especially a thorn in Rock Valley's side, coming up with seven steals and a blocked shot before all was said and done.

Madison College (10-6, 2-1) will look to rebound from their first conference loss at College of DuPage on Wednesday, January 25th. Tip-off time is set for 5:00 PM. Due to their game against Harper College being canceled the WolfPack women will not play at home again until February 4th.
