Still Rolling, Women's Hoops a Winner of Three Straight

It took a total team effort. Behind four players scoring in double-digits Saturday afternoon, the Madison College women's basketball team rallied from a six point halftime deficit to win at Joliet Junior College 76-70.

Despite committing 25 turnovers, which would lead to 19 Wolves points, the WolfPack was able to get things done behind 25 points from Thresia Elskamp, a double-double by Courtney Spangler (11 points, 12 rebounds), and a combined 28 points from Kinsey Mace (13) and Hannah Schwartzer (15). Elskamp was fantastic from the free throw line, hitting 13-of-14 attempts. Thanks in large part to Elskamp, the 'Pack would outscore the Wolves from the charity stripe 26-15. More than making up the difference for Joliet Junior College was Celestra Warren. Warren, a sophomore guard, hit 14-of-19 shots from the field to finish with a game-high 33 points. As a team, Joliet made 27-of-67 shots (40.3%), while Madison College hit 24-of-62 (38.7%).

Madison College (10-5, 2-0) will look to keep their perfect mark in the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) alive next Saturday, January 21st when they host Rock Valley College. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.
