The Madison College soccer team dropped their second contest in as many tries Friday. Welcoming Concordia University JV to town for their home opener, the WolfPack was bested 6-1.
Once again, the 'Pack got off to a slow start giving up three goals in the first half to the Falcons. The first Concordia strike came in the seventh minute, as Blake Edler blasted one past
Eric Liegel, and that was followed by goals in the 30th and 40th minute. All three of the Falcons first half goals were unassisted.
Concordia kept the attack on come the second half, as Mike Schraufnagel scored Concordia's fourth goal in the 69th minute. Madison College, down but not out, would answer just 48 seconds later though.
Trevor Cervenka set up
Aristote Mbaya for his first goal of the season to put the WolfPack back within three. Unfortunately, Madison would give up two more goals before the final whistle.
Eric Liegel finished with 14 saves on the evening for the WolfPack.
Next, Madison College (0-2) will host Prairie State College tomorrow afternoon. The Pioneers currently sit at 2-1 overall on the season. Game time is set for 12:00 PM.
