The Madison College women's basketball team dropped their second game of the year as the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjackets used a strong first half to cruise to a 66-76 win over the visiting WolfPack. Madison College fell behind early and limped into intermission down 20-39 after shooting 19 percent from the field, before clawing their way back in the second half.
Rochester jumped out to a 52-26 lead shortly after the break, thier biggest of the game, before the 'Pack climbed back into the game with a strong second-half effort. Madison College outscored the Yellowjackets 46-37 in the final frame, but fell short of their second, three game winning streak and their sixth win of the year.
Three players led the WolfPack in scoring with 15 points a piece, including sophomore
Hannah Schwartzer. Schwartzer also led the team with eight rebounds. Freshmen
Tanya Kaufmann and
Kinsey Mace joined Schwartzer by dropping in 15 points of their own. Freshman
Sakeenah Rashada managed to score eight points in the loss, and led the team with an impressive six steals and four assists.
The WolfPack women drop to 5-2 on the year and look to rebound on Thursday, December 8 as they host UW-Waukesha. The in-state matchup tips off at 5:30 PM.
