Despite a 25 point effort from
Alex Cook, the Madison College men's basketball team lost their opening game in the Maricopa County Holiday Classic on Wednesday. The WolfPack fell 84-64 to Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
A slow start, and free throws are what made up the 'Pack's demise. At halftime Madison College trailed 45-26. For the game, Chandler-Gilbert hit 23-of-28 free throws, while the WolfPack were 4-of-7.
Garrett Borgrud had 12 points, along with five rebounds for Madison College.
Roger Davis added ten more points, and five rebounds as well. Chandler-Gilbert saw five players score in double digits.
With the loss, Madison College falls to 2-8 overall on the season. Next up, a matchup with another division two opponent in Phoenix College on Thursday, December 29th. Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM.
