Mace's Double-Double Leads WolfPack Over D1 Highland

Kinsey Mace had her second consecutive double-double over a NJCAA Divison I opponent as she poured in 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead her team to a 74-53 win over Highland Community College.

Mace's double-double was a bright spot in a turnover laden game.  Both teams combined for 63 turnovers while the host WolfPack overcame 33 turnovers themselves to get back in the win column. The WolfPack led by five points going into halftime despite shooting just 33% from the field and committing 20 turnovers.  In the second half, Madison shot better from the field (almost 45%) and put the game away outscoring the visiting Highland Community College Cougars 47-31 in the second session. 

While the WolfPack committed a season high 33 turnovers they converted off the Cougar turnovers, scoring 31 points off turnovers to the Cougars 22 points.  The WolfPack also earned the advantage on points in the paint, oustscoring Highland 30-10. 

Second year forward, Thresia Elskamp and second year transfer, Tanya Kaufmann each reached double figures with 14 points and 12 points, respectively.  Elskamp has reached double-figures in every game this year

With the 74-53 win, the Madison College WolfPack women improve to 4-1 overall.  They will be in action again on Saturday, December 3 when the face Olive Harvey College in Chicago, IL at 1:00 PM.
