WolfPack Gives Up Five Goals in First Half, Falls to MATC-Milwaukee

Playing in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College for the second time in a week, the Madison College soccer team fared no better in the rematch. Despite getting an early goal from Jesus Tinoco, the WolfPack fell by the score of 7-1. The first time the two teams met this season the 'Pack were beaten 8-1.

The Stormers rolled out to an early lead as Sergio Martinez scored in the tenth minute of the game (9:07). Madison College found an answer though as Jesus Tinoco put one into the back of the net for the WolfPack just over three minutes later at 12:26. The goal by Tinoco tied things up at 1-1. However, after that it was six unanswered goals by MATC-Milwaukee. The Stormers scored four more before the halftime break, and another two in the second, to pick up the 7-1 win. Eric Liegel made five saves, and gave up six goals, prior to being replaced by Michael Riley. Riley made two saves, and gave up just one goal. The WolfPack was outshot 24-15 for the game, with the Stormers putting 17 shots on goal to Madison's five.

The WolfPack (0-14, 0-7) will travel to Waubonsee Community College on Sunday, October 9th for a rematch with the Chiefs. Waubonsee beat Madison College 3-0 earlier this season.
