The Madison College soccer team is quickly running out of time to pick up a win this season. Hosting in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College on Friday, the WolfPack fell to the Stormers 8-1. The loss dropped the 'Pack to 0-12 on the season.
The scoring started early for the Stormers, with Kyle Burgess blasting one past
Eric Liegel at the 7:25 mark. Burgess would follow that up with another goal at 18:52. Prior to the halftime break, Sergio Martinez would join the goal scoring party by putting two of his own past the sophomore goalkeeper.
Already up 4-0, Milwaukee Area Technical College would pick up right where they left off in the second half. Burgess added another goal at 48:20, giving himself the hat trick on the day. Three more goals would follow, with Sergio Ramirez (51:06), Cheng Vue (51:36), and Anthony Maglio (66:04) all adding goals before the WolfPack could get on the board. The lone goal of the game for Madison College would come at 74:48, with
Kyle Hamilton scoring off the assist from
Piero Alegria.
Eric Liegel, who gave up six goals on the day, made six saves for the WolfPack.
Michael Riley, who also saw action in net, made four saves while giving up two goals. The Stormers outshot the 'Pack 27-6, with 19 shots on goal. With five games remaining in the regular season, Madison College will head to Loras College for a matchup with their JV squad on Monday, October 3rd. The game is set to get underway at 7:30 PM.
