The WolfPack received strong guard play as second year guard
Shelby Beth not only led her team in scoring she also made a basket with seconds left to go inorder to send the game into overtime. In overtime, the WolfPack dominated, outscoring the visiting Rams 11-2 to win their second consecutive conference game, 68-59.
The game was close throughout as the lead changed ten times and was tied on six different occasions. Madison College took a one-point lead into halftime by outshooting the visiting Rams but the second half was incredibly even as both teams went 11-27 from the field and made six free throws each. In overtime, the WolfPack locked down on defense and the Rams went cold, shooting just 1-for-9 from the field. The WolfPack, on the other hand, shot well, going 2-for-4 and making seven free throws.
Shelby Beth led all scorers with 19 points as she went 7-for-10 from the line. Teammate
April Testman also made a big impact as she posted a double-double, pulling down 17 rebounds including six offensive to go with her 13 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
Mya Flentje played tough defense and pitched in with 12 points while
Hannah Schwartzer added 14 points.
Alicia Kopp grabbed double-digit rebounds (10) to go with her seven points.
With the win, the WolfPack improve to 6-8 overall and 2-0 in the North Central Community Conference (N4C). The next game is Tuesday against Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL.
