WolfPack Women Take Down the College of DuPage

The Madison College women used a strong second half in a 64-58 comeback win over the Chaparrals from the College of DuPage. Down by four points at the break (32-28), the WolfPack outscored the Chaparrals 36-26 in the second half for the six point victory.

The WolfPack were outshot in the first half 28.9% to 40.6% by their opponent, but rebounded with a strong second half on both offense and defense. The team shot 44.8% from the field and limited their opponent to 26.5% in the frame. They also dished out 20 assists to the opponents 10, and outrebounded the Chaparrals 49 to 40.

Second year post player Alicia Kopp paced the team with 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the field, and recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a team leading 13 rebounds. First year post player and Madison native Hannah Schwartzer also scored in double digits with 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field, including 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. Although she scored only two points, sophomore guard and Baraboo native Mya Flentje dished out 10 assists and hauled down 8 rebounds in the win.

After the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) victory in Glen Ellyn, IL, the WolfPack improves to 9-10 overall and 3-3 in the N4C. The team has a short break before their next game when they host Milwaukee Area Technical College this Tuesday evening.
