WolfPack Women Rally to Win in Overtime

After trailing by as many as 14 points in the second half the WolfPack Women rallied to tie the game and force overtime.  In the extra session, Madison College outscored the visiting Joliet Junior College Lady Wolves, 13-5, to win their second conference game, 71-63.

The WolfPack Women have three North Central Community Conference (N4C) games this season and two of them were overtime victories.  They saved their best for overtime this game as they shot just 32% from the field for the game but were 4-for-9 (44%) in overtime.  The WolfPack also outrebounded the visiting Lady Wolves 57-47 including 24-14 on the offensive glass.

Second year post player, Alicia Kopp, led the way for her team as she contributed in many ways.  Kopp tied a season-high for points, scoring 22 and she also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out seven assists.  Former Oakfield H.S. standout, Jamie Nolan, scored 20 points going 5-for-5 from the free throw line.  Second year center, April Testman posted her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds.  Hannah Schwartzer came up one rebound shy of a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

The win pushed the WolfPack Women's conference record to 3-1 and their overall record to 7-8.  Next up for the WolfPack is a Tuesday game versus Harper College in Palatine, IL.
