WolfPack Strike First, Lose to McHenry

It was the WolfPack who got on the board first in their matchup against Division I foe McHenry County College, however after scoring two unanswered goals, the Scots left Madison with the 2-1 win.

The goal scored by first-year player Jody LaReau gave the young WolfPack team their first lead of the season. It was assisted by fellow first-year player Eric Salinas at the 26:59 mark. The lead didn't last for long though, as the Scots tied the game up roughly 10 minutes later with a goal of their own and netted another goal right before halftime.

After a scoreless second half, the WolfPack lost their third-straight game of the season. The WolfPack defense put up their best effort in three tries as the Scots were held to a season-low eight shots on goal and it was the first time this season that they held an opponent scoreless in the second half. Goalie Eric Liegel allowed two goals while saving four.

The WolfPack wrap up their three-game homestand on Sept. 5 against College of Lake County and are looking to get their first win of the season against another Division I opponent.
