Tony Winscher assisted the first WolfPack goal of the season.
Triton College came into Madison for the WolfPack's home opener and returned across the Illinois border with a 5-1 win. The Trojans entered the contest as the No. 8 ranked team in the country and the highest-ranked team in the N4C among the conference's Division III teams.
The Trojans got right to work after arriving in Madison as they scored 46 seconds into the game. They went on to score two more first-half goals as they opened up a 3-0 nothing lead over the WolfPack.
First-year player
Kyle Weisinger got the WolfPack on the board and back into the game just 25 seconds after the third Trojan goal, which was assisted by the lone returning player from last year's squad,
Tony Winscher. It was the first WolfPack netted a goal this season.
Despite getting the offense going late in the first half, the WolfPack were outscored 2-0 in the second half as they fell for the second time this season. First-year goalie
Eric Liegel allowed five goals while making nine saves.
The WolfPack have two more games left in their three-game homestand. Both games come against Division I opponents in McHenry County College and College of Lake County. The WolfPack play McHenry on Sept. 4 and Lake County on Sept. 5.
