WolfPack Tie Waubonsee

Eric Liegel saved 12 goals and allowed just one ball into the net in the 1-1 tie against Waubonsee Community College.
The Madison College soccer team earned their first tie of the season in a 1-1 game against Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Ill. on Sept. 18.

The WolfPack struck first, scoring 7:01 into the game on a Tony Winscher goal. The goal was assisted by Eric Salinas as he recorded his second assist of the season. Just minutes before the end of the first half, the Chiefs scored to tie the game 1-1.

Both goalies kept the ball out of the net in the second half and the first half score held up at the end of the game. Eric Liegel had his best game of the year as he saved 12 shots and allowed just one goal. The WolfPack hung tough in the game despite getting eight less shots on goal than the Chiefs.

A rematch against Kankakee Community College is on the horizon for the WolfPack as they look to avenge a season-opening loss to the Cavaliers. The WolfPack will look to use their success against the Chiefs as a momentum-builder heading into the rematch. The game against the Cavaliers is on Sept. 19 in Madison at 1 p.m.
