The injury bug has hit the Madison College women's basketball team hard in the early stages of the 2010-11 season. Five WolfPack players didn't suit up against Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. on Nov. 23 in the 71-58 loss to the Division II opponent.
The WolfPack (3-3) trailed the Cougars by six at halftime, but were unable to overcome the early deficit in a game in which they never lead.
Alicia Kopp continued her dominant play this season by recording a double-double in the game, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She was 7-for-18 from the field and hit 5-of-6 free throw attempts.
Shelby Beth followed up her teammate with 15 points.
Second-year starting guard
Mya Flentje was held to just three points, but distrubted the ball well as she was responsible for seven of the team's 11 assists. She was also active on the other end of the floor with four steals.
After having Thanksgiving weekend off, the WolfPack return to Madison to host UW-Marathon at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the Douglas H. Redsten Gymnasium as they look to get back over the .500 mark on the young season.
