WolfPack Women Rally in the Second Half

The WolfPack women entered halftime trailing by one to UW-Marathon County 21-20 in Wausau, WI on Jan. 7. Madison College turned the game around in the second half, outscoring UW-Marathon County 35-22 en route to getting the 55-43 road win in non-conference play.

After being held to a season-low two points against Milwaukee Area Technical College in the WolfPack's previous game, Gabi Hungerford (Wild Rose, WI, Wild Rose ) scored 20 points to lead all scorers and came up two rebounds shy of getting a double-double in just 23 minutes of action against the Huskies. Hungerford hit the 20-point mark for the fifth time this season. Second-year players Kendra Mussehl (New Glarus, WI, New Glarus ) and Alyssa Bowe (Barneveld, WI, Barneveld ) combined to shoot 6 of 12 from the field, scoring 17 points for the WolfPack.

Madison College held the Huskies bench scoreless in the game, outscoring their bench 11-0. The WolfPack defense held the Huskies to just 1-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc and forced 28 turnovers, stealing the ball 19 times. Thresia Elskamp (Potosi, WI, Potosi ) led the defensive charge with five steals.

The WolfPack take their 13-2 record to River Grove, IL and take on the Triton College Trojans for their first conference road game of the season on Jan. 9 at 5:00 pm.
