The WolfPack got back on track just one day after suffering their first loss of the season. Madison College won a close game against NJCAA Division II opponent and tournament host, Scottsdale Community College. The WolfPack defeated the Fighting Artichokes 77-73 on Dec. 30 in Arizona.
The WolfPack pounded the boards hard on Tuesday afternoon as they out-rebounded the Fighting Artichokes 48-31. Madison College also had an encouraging night from the free-throw line, hitting 30 of 43 attempts. Despite 36 WolfPack turnovers, 12 lead changes and 16 ties, Madison College was able to hang on for the win.
Leading scorer Gabi Hungerford (Wild Rose, WI, Wild Rose ) exploded for a game-high and season-high 26 points. Thresia Elskamp (Potosi, WI, Potosi ) recorded her second double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to go along with her four steals as the WolfPack improved to 11-1.
