WolfPack Women Lights Out From the Free Throw Line

The WolfPack were nearly perfect from the free throw line in the their 70-57 victory over the Golden Eagles of Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. Madison College went 21-for-22 from the charity stripe on the road, including hitting all 13 attempts in the second half. Second-year guard Kendra Mussehl (New Glarus, WI, New Glarus )led the charge, shooting a perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line.

The WolfPack, who never trailed, entered halftime with a slim 30-27 lead over the Golden Eagles. Madison College made more free throws (21) than their opponent even attempted (13). The Wolfpack defense played well, stealing the ball 10 times. Gabi Hungerford (Wild Rose, WI, Wild Rose ) got big in the paint as she had five blocks in the game.

Madison College was led by Mussehl, who scored 14 of her season-high 19 points from the free throw line. First-year starting guard, Thresia Elskamp (Potosi, WI, Potosi ), scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Hungerford and Alyssa Bowe (Barneveld, WI, Barneveld ) rounded out the scoring for the WolfPack with 11 and 10 respectively.

The #1 ranked WolfPack (16-2, 4-0) will host Joliet Junior College on Jan. 19 at 5:30 pm on their home floor, where they are undefeated this season.
