The women's basketball team defeated Minnesota West CTC 72-64 in their first game of the season at the Worthington Regional Hospital Classic in Worthington, MN.
The WolfPack built off their 34-31 halftime lead to outlast the Bluejays in the second half and hold on for the eight point win. University of Detroit-Mercy transfer, Gabi Hungerford (Wild Rose, WI, Wild Rose ), had a huge game for Madison College. In addition to scoring a game-high 21 points, she also grabbed six rebounds, gave out six assists, and had two steals. Second-year player Alyssa Bowe (Barneveld, WI, Barneveld ) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The women's basketball team was the #2 ranked team in the national preseason poll coming into the season opener against Minnesota West CTC.
