Madison College Soccer Postseason Run Ends Early

Thiemoko Kone scored three goals against Harper College, but it wasn't enough as Madison College fell 4-3.
The WolfPack season came to an end on Oct. 24 as they lost a close 4-3 game against Harper College in Madison. The loss came just three days after an impressive 8-2 win over Milwaukee Area Technical College.

It was a back-and-forth game with Madison College striking first. Harper College and Madison College traded goals to end the first half with a 2-2 tie. The Wolfpack took an early 3-2 lead in the second half off of Thiemoko Kone's (Dakar,SN, Senegal) third goal of the game. However, the Hawks scored just one minute later to tie the game for the third time. The game remained tied until Harper College scored the game-winning goal and ended Madison College's season.

Kone scored seven goals in Madison College's two postseason games, bringing his season total to 17, which led the team this year. Serigne Sarr (Madison, WI, Madison East ) led the team with nine assists and was tied for second on the team in goals scored with Tim Kennedy (Verona, WI, Verona Area ) at eight apiece.

Goalie Michael Boerboom (Madison, WI, Madison Memorial) saved two goals and allowed four in the loss to Harper College. On the season Boerboom saved 28 goals and allowed 25 goals. Goalie Matt Hovey (Monona, WI, Monona Grove ) saved 37 goals while allowing 15 goals on the season.
