During the 2005-06 season, Vesterdahl earned WJCAA Coach-of-the-Year honors as he directed the WolfPack to a 22-14 overall record and the first state title since the 1998-99 season. Before returning to Madison College in the 2004-05 season, he coached at Stoughton High School for three seasons. Prior to Stoughton, Vesterdahl was a two-time WJCAA Coach-of-the-Year at Madison College. From 1997-99, his teams combined for a 60-29 overall record and won two consecutive state and conference championships.
