Matthew Haggart

Matthew Haggart is entering his first season as assistant coach with Madison College men's and women's soccer after being hired in June 2026. He returns to Madison College after completing a successful two-year stint as a golf student-athlete with the WolfPack.

Haggart was a two-time All-Region 4 golfer at Madison College, and ended his collegiate golf career with a berth in the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. He placed 92nd overall at Swan Lake Golf in Plymouth, Indiana.

As a freshman, Haggart posted an 80.3 scoring average, with a season-low round of 75 and ten sub-80 rounds on the season. He finished 14th at the Region 4 Tournament. Haggart's sophomore season resulted in a 78.0 scoring average thanks to 13 rounds below 80. He twice signed off on a career-best round of 73, doing so in the second rounds of the Edgewood Fall Classic and the Maverick Fall Brawl. His four-over-par 76 at the WolfPack Challenge earned Haggart his best finish in a collegiate event with a tie for first. At the Region 4 Tournament, Haggart tied for fifth and used a final round 74 to win a scorecard playoff for an automatic spot in the national tournament. His 79.1 career scoring average ranks 12th all-time.

As a prep athlete, Haggart competed in golf and hockey at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, Wisconsin. He qualified for the WIAA State Golf Tournament all four years, highlighted by a Division 2 State Team title as a senior and a tie for fourth individually. He was a three-time WGCA Honorable Mention All-State recipient. Haggart was a four-time all-conference winner in golf, as well as a two-time all-conference pick in hockey.

Haggart's coaching career includes two years as a volunteer assistant with the Lakeland Union golf teams. He also has and continues to compete in many statewide golf events.
