Jessica Pelzel took over the reigns as head softball coach in March of 2009 and is in her first season with the WolfPack. She has served as the MATC head women's basketball coach since the 2006-07 season. Before coming to MATC in 2006, Pelzel played softball at Southwest Minnesota State University (Marshall, MN), prior to serving as an assistant softball coach at College of St. Benedict (St. Joseph, MN).
Pelzel also served as an assistant basketball coach at the College of St. Benedict (St. Joseph, MN) for the two years prior to coming to MATC. While at St. Benedict, she served as a full-time instructor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport Science (HPERSS) at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) - where she also earned her Master’s of Science degree. Prior to St. Benedict, Pelzel held a graduate assistant position with the SCSU Women’s Basketball team for one year, and was a two-year graduate teaching assistant in the HPERSS department.
Pelzel was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Southwest Minnesota State University (Marshall, MN), where she was a three-time team captain and was selected defensive player-of-the-year her senior season. She is also a current member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and has coached numerous Minnesota AAU teams over the past 10 years.
In addition to her coaching duties, Pelzel is also a full-time physical education instructor at MATC.
