Ann Mortenson - Assistant Softball Coach

Ann Mortenson

Ann Mortenson became the assistant softball coach in March of 2009 when Jessica Pelzel was hired to serve as the WolfPack head softball coach. Like Pelzel, Mortenson will be entering her first season, and brings a wealth of experience with her to the MATC softball program. While attending Colby College (Waterville, ME), Mortenson was a four-year letterwinner in both softball and hockey. As an infielder, Mortenson earned all-conference honors in each of her four years and all-region honors in her junior season. She was named both captain and team MVP three of the four years.

After graduating from Colby College, Mortenson served as an assistant coach for the women's hockey team at the College of St. Benedict (St. Joseph, MN) for three years, before moving on to hold the same position for two years at Saint Mary's University (Winona, MN) - where she would earn her masters degree in Counseling Psychology. In addition to coaching hockey, Mortenson also served as an assistant softball coach for one year at Saint Mary's, where her team won a national championship in 2000.

In addition to coaching, Mortenson is currently pursuing her Ph.D in Psychology while serving as a Psychology instructor at Madison Area Technical College, Blackhawk Technical College, and Lakeland University.
