Madison College Athletics has announced that
Tye Dillen will serve as the WolfPack's Interim Head Esports Coach for the upcoming 2025-26 seasons. Dillen, who served as an assistant coach for the 2024-25 seasons after two years as a player, becomes the second head coach in the history of the program.
"We are excited to have
Tye Dillen coaching our Madison College Esports team this school year," commented Madison College Director of Athletics
Jason Verhelst. "Tye brings great perspective as a former Esports student-athlete here. He will do a terrific job."
As a coach in 2024-25, Dillen helped Madison College win two NJCAAE national championships in Valorant (Fall 2024) and Rocket League (Spring 2025). Additionally, the WolfPack Overwatch 2 team finished fourth in the spring.
Dillen competed in two gaming titles during his playing days with the WolfPack. As part of the Overwatch 2 team in the Fall 2023 season, he helped Madison College to a 5-3 record as the Pack lost to the University of Iowa in the NACE Starleague Quarterfinals. The previous semester, Dillen was part of a NJCAAE National Runner-up squad in Valorant. Madison College ran through their postseason opponents until the grand final against Northeast Oklahoma A&M College and suffered a 2-0 setback to finish 9-2 on the year.
During his prep days, Dillen also competed in Esports at Fort Atkinson High School, serving as the captain of the Overwatch team. He also served as the Esports President and as a coach at Fort Atkinson.
Dillen will fill the role of interim head coach for one year. According to Verhelst, "we anticipate posting the full-time Esports & XR Center Coordinator position later in Spring 2026".
Dillen takes over for Joe Hanson, who
stepped down after five years and ten seasons coaching Madison College Esports, which began in Fall 2020. The program boasts ten NJCAAE National Championships and six national runners-up.
