CLERMONT, FLOR. - The Madison College softball team found themselves on both sides of run-ruled games during their final day of play in the Sunshine State on Friday. The
#12-ranked WolfPack lost 8-0 to #7 Iowa Central Community College 8-0 in six innings before winning a 9-1 game in five innings over NCAA Division III Elmhurst College JV (IL). The 'Pack posted a 10-4 record during their annual Florida Spring Trip to improve to 14-6 overall.

In a matchup of nationally ranked programs, the WolfPack failed to score a run for the first time this season and matched their worst losses of the year with the eight-point setback. The Tritons (18-4) plated two runs in each of the first two innings on a combined four hits, one walk, and two Madison College errors. The score remained 4-0 until the sixth, the Iowa Central added four more thanks to three hits, a walk, and an error.
The WolfPack collected three total hits, one each in the first, fifth, and sixth innings. In both the first and fifth innings, they left runners in scoring position. Freshman
Irene Tomasovic had two hits, while fellow first year Kaela Kramer had the other. Tomasovic, a native of Kimberly, Wisconsin, has a nine-game hitting streak, during which she is batting .567 with 17 hits in 30 at-bats. She has produced 14 runs scored and seven runs batted in.
Maddie Fink, a first year righthander from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, fell to 2-2 on the season with three earned runs on six hits and three walks in her 5.2 innings in the circle. She also collected three strikeouts.
Cathryn Hiller closed out the game allowing an unearned run on one hit.
The game was the first all-time meeting between the two programs.Â

Madison College took full advantage of eight walks and five errors defeating the Blue Jays. Leading 2-0 after the first inning, the WolfPack made it 5-0 in the third when sophomore
Kylie Endres drove in two runs with a single to left to plate
Kyrsten George and
Maegan Brookins. Three consecutive walks later and the 'Pack were up a five. They made it 7-1 in the fourth with run-scoring singles from freshmen
Anna Manke and
Kaela Kraemer. A trio of Elmhurst College errors in the fifth allowed two more runs to score for the early Madison College victory.
First year righthanderÂ
Brianna Farrington (4-1) surrendered just one unearned run on four hits and two walks. The Columbus, Wisconsin, native struck out a season-high seven batters over her five innings.Â
Four different Madison College players registered a hit. Endres, a former DeForest Area High School athlete, went 1 for 3 with three RBI and a run scored. The WolfPack matched a season-high with six stolen bases, led by George's three.

Madison College (14-6) will take a week off upon returning to the Midwest and is scheduled to resume play on Saturday, March 30 with a doubleheader at Highland Community College (4-6). The WolfPack has won three straight over the Cougars and owns a 9-6 record all-time. First pitch of game one is slated for 12:00 p.m. in Freeport, Illinois.
