MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College softball team finally returned home on April 14 after four away games, and the results were mixed. The WolfPack lost the opener against the Triton College Trojans 2-3 before picking up the win in the nightcap of the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) game by the score of 7-5. The WolfPack is still in in second place in the N4C standing with a 10-3 record. Rock Valley College sits atop the N4C standings with a 12-1 record.

In the low scoring first game against Triton, the Trojans struck first with three runs in the top of the second inning, and the WolfPack couldn't get on the board till the fourth inning with two runs. The Triton starting pitcher silenced the Madison College bats after the two fourth inning runs and walked away with the 3-2 win.

Cheyenne Holmes led the way at the dish for the WolfPack as she finished 2-for-3, including a double. The double was the lone extra base hit for the 'Pack, as they were limited to only six hits in the game.
Brooke Heck finished 1-for-2 with a RBI and a run scored, and
Brenna Seeber scored the other run for Madison. Seeber finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a hit by pitch.

Starting pitcher
Jenalee Wilson pitched a solid game, and only allowed five hits, three runs, while striking out seven. A costly second inning error did in Wilson and the 'Pack, as only one of the three Triton runs were earned.

In game two against Triton, the WolfPack bats came to life in the early going as they scored four runs in the first inning and put up nine hits in the 7-5 win. The Trojans also woke up at the plate as they finished with 11 hits, but the big Madison first inning did in the visitors.

Breanna Bollig paced the WolfPack offense by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and two others joined her with two hit games.
Cheyenne Holmes finished the day 2-for-2 with a RBI and a run scored. She also added a double, and
Lindsey Bollig and
Jordan Bell joined her with doubles.
Bailey Kratt was the other member of the 'Pack with two hits, as she finished 2-for-3 with a RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base.

Starting pitcher
Hannah Jensen went the distance on the mound and improved to 7-6 on the season. In seven innings, Jensen allowed 11 hits, five runs, and struckout two in the two run win.
